Olive festival in Spain

Autumn is the time of harvest, and the most valuable alimentary product in Spain is of course olives and oil. In the south, in Andalusia, there is a world-famous festival dedicated to the end of the olive fruit harvest. Las Jornadas del Olivar y Aceite is Europe's largest olive oil and olive festival. These days Spaniards are noisily thanking their native land for the harvest and are preparing to share their delicacy with the whole world.

Although the program of the festival is slightly modified every year, however, the main event of the olive holiday remains unchanged - this is Ruta de la Tapa. The conditions are simple: whoever walks around the most bars in the evening offering specialty tapas and dishes with olive oil gets a prize - 50 liters of selected olive oil and lunch for two in a restaurant that will be recognized as the best "olive" place at this festival. At the fair, you can learn all about the benefits of olive oil for human health and beauty, various aspects of its use and the significance of this product for Spain as a whole.

Those who are seriously interested in olives, the culture of creating and consuming olive oil should also visit the city of Baen, where this festival takes place. It is here that the Olive Museum is located.
