Spanish manufacturers achieve record success in world competitions

Olive oil farmers, olive oil producers and exporters in Spain celebrated another record year at the NYIOC 2022 World Olive Oil Competition, earning a maximum of 128 awards.

This is the world's largest competition for the quality of olive oil, and Spain, we recall, is the main and main producer of this unique product in the world. Over the past decades, Spanish production has evolved towards increasing the volume and quality of production. These awards confirm the quality and increase the prestige of Spanish olive oil in the world. Spain exports 70% of what it produces, and these awards spread information about the benefits and qualities of Spanish olive oil, which is why recognition outside Europe is so important.

As always, the lion's share of the awards went to the producers of the southern autonomous community of Andalusia, which accounts for about two-thirds of olive oil production in Spain. However, producers from Castile-La Mancha, Spain's second largest region, Extremadura and Catalonia, have also earned many NYIOOC awards.

The 2021/22 harvest year was very difficult – drought, covid, and then due to all the problems with supply, transportation, increased costs and other obstacles caused by this, normal work was a serious task. That is why the awards are particularly gratifying - they are an incentive to continue the struggle for the production of oils of recognized quality, and, of course, advertising for the consumer.
